Sponsors & Friends

rs.I am very fortunate to be supported by a number of really fantastic companies, individuals and brands. This page is devoted to revealing who they are and what they do. Whilst it’s true I may be biased towards those companies who sponsor me, I can honestly say that if I did not passionately believe in the company or their products/expertise I would point blank refuse to be sponsored by them- whatever they offered.

My first road bike was a Trek 1000. My second was a Trek 1400. With British Cycling I rode a Trek Madone 5.9. There's a theme emerging here... I am really fortunate to be able to spend my time riding these great bikes.

Phil and Julian of Cyclefit are widely regarded as amongst the most qualified and talented bike-fitting experts in Europe. The bike-fitters who train bike-fitters. I have benefitted immensely from their expertise, humour, and bikes over the last few years, and the remain great advisers and friends. They have been incredibly supportive of me for some time now, managing and providing advice for my bike-fits and biomechanical issues, and also putting me in touch with experts in other fields to facilitate this work.

JJ at Koolstof Coaching is a new but critical addition to the sponsorship roster! A great coach and friend, he has years of experience in the cycling world - with multiple wins, BBARs and records to his name. Returning once again to competion himself, he is also now passing on his immense enthusiasm and practical training advice to a great many coaching clients. With regular ongoing power testing and monitoring of performances he genuinely has his finger on my pulse.

4 years of sponsorship now. Awesome people. Awesome products. 'nuff said.

New for 2013. The original (and still the best) on-bike power measurement device. Used by countless national squads, professional teams and those who demand total accuracy and precision. I am extremely grateful to Daniel at SRM for the chance to use SRM power system products on all my bikes.

Jonathan, Mick and Graham of Balance Physio are based in Clapham, London. They have worked closely with the guys at CycleFit to produce some custom footbeds to go into the custom shoe project we've undertaken. Their combined expertise has proven invaluable to me in helping me manage injuries, rehabilitation and recovery better. Jonathan introduced me to the fantastic recovery and rehabilitation effects of Trigger Point therapy and BodyHelix products and we regularly work together to try to improve all aspects of my performance outside of actually just turning the pedals.

I'm really excited that Anna Maria Mazzieri of Exmouth Massage Clinic has offered to help me out this year. A Sports and Remedial Massage Practicioner of considerable experience and expertise, she is absolutely fantastic at trying to get my body working as it should! A new addition to my collection of sponsors, I'm really keen to see how far we can improve my performances under her expert care. Grazie Anna Maria.

Very happy to have Fi'zi:k on board again for this year. They are helping out with bartape, seatpacks and saddles. Their 'spine concept' series of saddles are amongst the most scientifically-evaluated and tested saddles on the market- and it shows. My very favourite saddles and very pleased that they're helping me out. Thanks guys.

Saddleback

The lovely people at Saddleback distributors have let me get involved with some of the first fully-custom Bont Cycling shoes in the country, available at Cyclefit. Have heard terrific things about these shoes from a number of people, so I'm really excited to see if we can produce a fully-customised shoe which will be comfortable, efficient and fit my rubbish feet well!

New for 2013- Exposure Lights have very generously given me front and rear lights for winter training!

I benefitted from a Sports Scholarship whilst at the University of Exeter, and their continued interest in my performance post-Graduation has been a tremendous help. Taking advantage of their gyms and World-Class Strength and Conditioning coaching under Alan Pope has been a privilege which continues to support my racing goals.

I have been using Training Peaks and WKO+ software with my coach JJ for some time now, so we can properly plan and analyse my training and progression. For 2013 I'm very pleased to be a TP Ambassador which means I can get more involved in suggesting and testing new developments for this fantastic bit of kit. My philosophy has been that it is always better to invest in a powermeter and some quality coaching rather than that new set of wheels you've been lusting after- and TP are the perfect embodiment of this.

Neovite

Another new addition to the 2013 sponsors roster! I first tried Neovite some time ago on a training camp, and noticed within a few days that I seemed to be recovering better between sessions. Normally with quite a good immune system to start with, adding neovite to my diet has seen me eradicate almost all those problematic coughs and minor colds which tend to spring up, particularly in the off-season! Well worth a  try.

Friends

This section is for all the people/companies who have previously sponsored me or continue to help out where they can or, alternatively, I may just like them and feel they deserve the recognition!

Sam and the guys at LMNH are a constant support and source of advice, hilarity and decent coffee. Currently THE best cafe in London, and well worth a visit for all your food/coffee/beer/bike/entertainment needs. A genuinely awesome place. All the cool kids go there (its a wonder they let me through the door, tbh). My girlfriend Alice rides for the LMNH team and owners Sam and Charlie are long-standing and great friends who we adore.

Hands-down the best cycling magazine around. Not so much a magazine as a bible. A tome. A journal. A manifesto. A thesis. Every issue an utter joy from cover 2 cover. Also a great deal of fun to be had working with Guy, Sofie, Gino, etc
